01
Dates that change the plan
Christmas Eve on 24 December 2026 is a statutory holiday in Poland; Christmas Day is Friday and 26 December is Saturday. Expect reduced services and make essential purchases before the holiday period begins.
02
Christmas market status
The Regional Culture Centre describes a recurring Christmas market beside the Town Hall. Its public vendor notice does not make it safe to treat the displayed dates as a confirmed 2026 schedule. Check the current RCK and city calendars before booking, and do not build the whole trip around the market.
03
Where to stay in winter
The Spa District shortens the route to the promenade and sea but can mean more exposed walking. Old Town / Śródmieście is better placed for urban services and indoor options. Choose Podczele or Radzikowo only after checking holiday transport and the evening return.
04
Arriving without a car
Compare the real luggage route from the station to the accommodation. For outer bases, confirm the route, stop and final useful service for each day; a summer or ordinary weekday timetable is not enough for Christmas.
05
A windy or wet day
Pair one short seafront walk with one indoor destination in the same part of town. Check museums, the basilica and other interiors for the exact date because holiday closures can remove the usual fallback.
06
Pre-travel checklist
Confirm check-in, heating, holiday meals, access to a pharmacy or shop, station transfer, final return and cancellation terms. Recheck weather warnings and transport notices the day before travelling.
